Coffee is more than just a morning jolt; it is complex chemistry. Whether you prefer a light roast with floral notes or a dark roast that tastes like chocolate and earth, the variables are endless.
The Four Pillars of Coffee
- Freshness: Use beans roasted within the last 30 days.
- Grind Size: Adjusted for your brew method.
- Water Ratio: The “Golden Ratio” is typically 1:16 (coffee to water).
- Temperature: Ideally between 90°C and 96°C.
Grind Size Guide (Table Test)
The most common mistake is using the wrong grind size. Use this table to check if your table headers and rows are easy to read.
| Brew Method | Grind Texture | Extraction Time |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso | Fine (Table Salt) | 25–30 sec |
| Pour Over | Medium (Sea Salt) | 3–4 min |
| French Press | Coarse (Breadcrumbs) | 4 min |
| Cold Brew | Extra Coarse | 12–24 hours |
The Algorithm
If your coffee machine ran on Python, it might look like this. This tests your syntax highlighting for comments and control flow.
class CoffeeMachine:
def __init__(self, water_level, beans):
self.water = water_level
self.beans = beans
def brew(self):
if self.water < 250:
print("Error: Refill Water Tank")
return False
print("Grinding beans...")
print("Heating water to 93°C...")
print("Extracting... ☕")
return "Delicious Cup Ready!"
# Initialize morning routine
my_machine = CoffeeMachine(water_level=500, beans=True)
print(my_machine.brew())
